About Hesta Health

Hesta is creating a new benchmark in women’s health, delivering exceptional care at every life stage. As we advance towards this goal, we are committed to closing the women’s health gap, beginning with pregnancy and postnatal as our initial focus. 75 million years of women’s lives are lost every year due to poor health or early death. This gap limits potential, drives inequality, and reflects a healthcare system that wasn’t built for women. We are changing that.

About Us

Hesta Health is creating a new benchmark in women’s health, delivering exceptional care at every life stage.

Our first mission is to reimagine care for mothers and birthing parents through compassionate care, clinical excellence and technology.

We’re looking for

We’re looking for an experienced Psychotherapist (5+ years) who specialises in postnatal mental health care. You’ll provide warm, compassionate therapy to postnatal women as part of the Hesta service. By creating a safe, non-judgmental space, you help new mothers feel heard and empowered as they navigate challenges in the two years following pregnancy. Your empathic, trauma-informed care and holistic outlook foster trust and healing, enabling women to achieve positive outcomes for their mental health and family life.

This is a part time role for about 8-10 hours per week

Location: Remote - consultations will be online

Start Date: Early 2026

What You'll Do

  • Deliver specialist, trauma-informed therapy to women in the postnatal period (up to two years postpartum), supporting recovery, resilience, and long-term wellbeing.

  • Provide comprehensive psychological assessments and develop personalised treatment plans, drawing on evidence-based approaches such as CBT and, where appropriate, EMDR.

  • Collaborate with GPs, midwives, physiotherapists, and the wider Hesta Health team to ensure continuity and holistic care for every patient.

  • Maintain accurate, secure digital records using Hesta’s electronic health systems, contributing to safe, coordinated, and data-driven care.

  • Contribute to service development, research, and quality improvement initiatives, helping to refine and expand Hesta’s postnatal mental health offering.

  • Stay up to date with the latest developments in therapeutic practice, bringing a preventative and forward-looking mindset to your work.

What You’ll Bring

  • A recognised professional qualification in psychotherapy, counselling psychology, or a relevant mental health discipline, with registration (BACP, UKCP, HCPC, BABCP, or equivalent).

  • At least 5 years’ post-qualification clinical experience, including delivery of trauma-informed therapy.

  • Strong skills in CBT and experience with EMDR (practitioner registration with EMDR UK/Europe desirable but not essential).

  • Proven ability to conduct psychological assessments and deliver structured, evidence-based interventions.

  • Strong clinical judgement, integrity in risk management, and excellent communication skills with both clients and colleagues.

  • Comfort using digital platforms and electronic health record systems.

  • (Desirable) Experience in private healthcare or fast-paced clinical environments.

  • A commitment to self-care, professional development, and the highest ethical standards in practice.

What we offer:

  • You’re joining a winning team who closed their oversubscribed £2M pre-seed earlier this year, backed by investors such as Eka Ventures, Ascension and Blue Lion Capital

  • Hesta’s co-founders bring expertise across business, technology, and clinical care, with experience in the NHS, Airbnb, Babylon, and McKinsey & Company, alongside research at the University of Oxford and UCL.

  • A unique opportunity to join a HealthTech startup at day zero and help build the backbone of a healthcare service designed specifically for women and birthing parents

  • Join a small, mission-driven team where your contributions have immediate impact - we can actually change how healthcare is designed, delivered and scaled for women, here at Hesta Health!
