About Hesta Health

Hesta is creating a new benchmark in women’s health, delivering exceptional care at every life stage. As we advance towards this goal, we are committed to closing the women’s health gap, beginning with pregnancy and postnatal as our initial focus. 75 million years of women’s lives are lost every year due to poor health or early death. This gap limits potential, drives inequality, and reflects a healthcare system that wasn’t built for women. We are changing that.

About Us

Hesta Health is creating a new benchmark in women’s health, delivering exceptional care at every life stage.

Our first mission is to reimagine care for mothers and birthing parents through compassionate care, clinical excellence and technology.

We’re looking for

A dedicated Registered Independent Midwife with a passion for delivering exceptional postnatal care to women and birthing parents. In this role, you’ll combine clinical expertise with empathy, integrity, and strong communication skills to ensure every individual feels safe, supported, and truly heard during one of life’s most important transitions.

We’re looking for someone who can bring both professional excellence and a deeply human touch to their practice, supporting families with confidence and compassion.

To join a healthtech startup this early on and genuinely change the future of healthcare is a career-defining opportunity and we can’t wait to see if you are a good fit to come and build with us!

Sessions: 3-6 per week

Location: Remote - online and in women's homes

Start Date: Early 2026

What you’ll do

  • Provide holistic, compassionate postnatal care from immediate post-birth recovery to ongoing follow-ups across the first two years after childbirth in both digital and community settings.

  • Identify, monitor and manage risks in the postnatal period, escalating or referring where necessary.

  • Lead and contribute to clinical governance processes, including incident review, safety audits and quality improvement initiatives

  • Serve as an active member of the Governance Committee, strengthening accountability, transparency and continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure each mother receives end-to-end support.

  • Educate and empower mothers and families with evidence-based guidance.

  • Shape and refine Hesta’s care model, working closely with our product and clinical teams.

What you’ll bring

  • Current NMC registration with experience working as an independent midwife, bringing broad perinatal expertise across antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care, with experience with community midwifery.

  • Exceptional communication skills, compassion, and deeply committed to person-focused care

  • Advanced lactation training is highly desired (IBCLC or equivalent strongly preferred).

  • Proven ability to assess, manage, and escalate clinical risks in postnatal care, ensuring patient safety at all times.

  • Confidence in delivering care both virtually and in the community, including home visits, with strong clinical judgement and a commitment to evidence-based practice.

  • Comfortable working within digital-first healthcare, telemedicine platforms, and clinical IT systems

  • Confidence in incident review, risk management and quality improvement processes, with experience of contributing to clinical governance.

  • Willingness to contribute actively to the Governance Committee and broader organisational leadership.

What we offer:

  • You’re joining a winning team who closed their oversubscribed £2M pre-seed earlier this year, backed by investors such as Eka Ventures, Ascension and Blue Lion Capital

  • Hesta’s co-founders bring expertise across business, technology, and clinical care, with experience in the NHS, Airbnb, Babylon, and McKinsey & Company, alongside research at the University of Oxford and UCL.

  • A unique opportunity to join a HealthTech startup at day zero and help build the backbone of a healthcare service designed specifically for women and birthing parents

  • Join a small, mission-driven team where your contributions have immediate impact - we can actually change how healthcare is designed, delivered and scaled for women, here at Hesta Health!
