About Hesta Health

Hesta is creating a new benchmark in women’s health, delivering exceptional care at every life stage. As we advance towards this goal, we are committed to closing the women’s health gap, beginning with pregnancy and postnatal as our initial focus. 75 million years of women’s lives are lost every year due to poor health or early death. This gap limits potential, drives inequality, and reflects a healthcare system that wasn’t built for women. We are changing that.

About us

Hesta is creating a new benchmark in women’s health, delivering exceptional care at every life stage. As we advance towards this goal, we are committed to closing the women’s health gap, beginning with pregnancy and postnatal as our initial focus. 75 million years of women’s lives are lost every year due to poor health or early death. This gap limits potential, drives inequality, and reflects a healthcare system that wasn’t built for women. We are changing that.

We raised our pre-seed round last year, alongside grant funding to launch Hesta Labs. Within months of founding we operationalised a CQC-registered multidisciplinary healthcare service, have already cared for hundreds of women, and been featured in The Times.

Our co-founders Dr Sujitha Selvarajah (NHS OBGYN doctor with a global public health background) and Amanda Cupples (ex-Managing Director, Airbnb UK, Northern Europe and MEA; ex-COO, Babylon; ex-McKinsey and Deluxe) have built a team of world-leading clinical, product and technology advisors, and are backed by investors including Eka, Blue Lion, Ascension and others.

What women who've used Hesta are saying:

"Surpassed any expectations. Highly recommend."

"I have never felt this listened to or heard … felt very empowered and supported."

We're early-stage: genuine ownership, genuine impact, and the chance to build something that doesn't exist yet, that changes millions of lives.

The opportunity

Our Founder’s Associate will work directly alongside Amanda Cupples and Dr Sujitha Selvarajah, our co-founders, helping to shape the next stage of Hesta Health’s growth. Our first postnatal care offering is now live, and our focus is on learning quickly from the women we serve, finding product-market fit, accelerating growth and building the foundations of a scalable healthcare business.

Acting as a right hand across all areas of company-building, this is a high-autonomy, high-ambiguity role. You’ll work on whatever matters most to the company at a given moment: from analysing unit economics or building a hiring funnel to fixing an operational problem for a customer that same afternoon.

This is not a strategy-only role. You’ll move constantly between analysis, decision-making and hands-on execution, often with incomplete information, shifting priorities and no existing playbook.

We’re looking for someone who finds that energising rather than destabilising: someone who can work out what matters, create structure from ambiguity, make sound decisions and drive things through to completion.

What You'll Do

  • Own high-priority company problems end-to-end: define the problem, work out what needs to happen, drive execution and close the loop.

  • Turn messy questions into rigorous analysis: build models, interrogate data, size opportunities and make clear recommendations.

  • Build and own our core business reporting, ensuring the founders understand what is happening in the business and why.

  • Drive cross-functional projects where there is no obvious owner, from customer experience and service operations to growth, hiring and partnerships.

  • Identify problems before they become emergencies, surface trade-offs early and force prioritisation when everything cannot be done.

  • Build lightweight systems and processes where they genuinely help us scale, without using process as a substitute for getting things done.

  • Support hiring across the company, including pipeline analysis, sourcing, interview coordination and removing bottlenecks.

  • Work directly with customers, clinicians, suppliers and partners when that is the fastest way to solve a problem.

  • Support fundraising, investor reporting and other founder priorities as the company evolves.

  • Be a culture carrier; champion Hesta’s values always

  • Be an external evangelist for Hesta Health, managing external stakeholders as required

Who You Are

  • Exceptionally analytical: You are highly numerate and naturally reach for data when trying to understand a problem. You are comfortable building a model from scratch, interrogating assumptions and turning imperfect data into a decision.

  • High ownership: You don't stop at completing the task you were given. You understand the outcome that needs to happen and keep going until it has happened.

  • Calm in chaos: Changing priorities, incomplete information and unexpected problems don't throw you. You can quickly work out what matters, create order and move.

  • Resourceful and practical: Your instinct when something is blocked is to find another way. You are as comfortable doing the unglamorous work required to solve a problem as you are presenting the strategy behind it.

  • A ruthless prioritiser: You know that an early-stage company cannot do everything. You distinguish important from merely urgent, make trade-offs explicit and push for decisions when priorities conflict.

  • Fast and intellectually rigorous: You get up to speed quickly, ask incisive questions and can move between detail and the bigger picture.

  • Low ego: You don't care whether something is “your job” if it needs doing. One hour you may be analysing conversion data; the next you may be calling a supplier or fixing a customer problem.

  • An excellent communicator: You communicate clearly and concisely, especially when something is going wrong. You escalate early, explain the consequence and come with a recommendation rather than simply presenting a problem.

  • Motivated by the customer: You care about the experience of the women using Hesta today, not just the systems we hope to build tomorrow.

  • Passionate about healthcare and making a real-world impact

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • 2–5 years in an environment with an unusually high bar for analytical thinking and execution, for example top-tier consulting, investment banking, private equity, high-growth startups, or an equivalent operating role.

  • Excellent quantitative skills. You should be genuinely strong in Excel/Google Sheets and comfortable owning budgets, building models, analysing funnels and working with imperfect datasets.

  • Evidence that you have personally owned difficult problems and driven them to completion, rather than only supporting a larger team.

  • Strong written and verbal communication.

  • Evidence of operating successfully in environments with rapid change and limited structure.

  • Bonus: Experience in healthcare, digital health, or tech startups

This role probably isn't for you if…

  • You need clearly defined responsibilities and stable priorities to do your best work.

  • You prefer strategy and planning to hands-on execution.

  • You are uncomfortable making progress with incomplete information.

  • You tend to wait for direction when you encounter an obstacle.

  • You enjoy building systems more than being accountable for the outcome they are meant to produce.

  • You want a role with a predictable distinction between “senior” and “junior” work.

What we offer:

  • You’re joining a winning team. (Founders have worked at: Airbnb, Babylon, NHS, Oxford, UCL)

  • A unique opportunity to join an early stage startup and help build the backbone of a healthcare service designed specifically for women.

  • Join a small, mission-driven team where your contributions have immediate impact.

  • A close working relationship with, and mentorship from, our experienced co-founders

  • Meaningful equity

  • Flexible work environment with autonomy and ownership -  hybrid work setup beginning with 2-3 days per week our office in Victoria

  • Office facilities: Spacious working space, bike storage, changing facilities, networking events and a healthy supply of tea/coffee

  • 25 days annual leave a year + public holidays
