Clinical Lead GP

We're looking for a GMC-registered, ambitious, exceptionally compassionate and competent GP with a strong commitment to delivering outstanding care to women and birthing parents

About Hesta Health

Hesta is creating a new benchmark in women’s health, delivering exceptional care at every life stage. As we advance towards this goal, we are committed to closing the women’s health gap, beginning with pregnancy and postnatal as our initial focus. 75 million years of women’s lives are lost every year due to poor health or early death. This gap limits potential, drives inequality, and reflects a healthcare system that wasn’t built for women. We are changing that.

About Us

Hesta Health is setting a new standard for excellence in women’s health - starting with pregnancy and the two years after birth.

75 million years of women’s lives are lost every year due to poor health or early death. This gap limits potential, drives inequality, and reflects a healthcare system that wasn’t built for women. We are changing that.
We're combining compassionate, evidence-based clinical care with digital tools to close the women’s health gap and redesign care pathways for mothers and birthing parents.

We are looking for

Hesta Health is seeking an ambitious, exceptionally compassionate and competent GP, with high-levels of ownership to join our growing team.

To join an early-stage HealthTech company making a genuine difference to women’s lives, and one that uniquely combines clinical work, health technology innovation, non-clinical contribution, and leadership opportunity, is rare and potentially career-defining.

Opportunities like this do not come around often and we are looking for someone who is passionate about improving health outcomes for women through innovation and by driving clinical excellence across the service.

You will re-imagine healthcare that places women at its centre - delivering high-quality, patient-centred care while providing leadership, guidance, and support to a multidisciplinary team.

This position combines leadership and management responsibilities with clinical practice.

What You'll Do

Co-developing pathways for patient care including digital and in-person pathways

  • Collaborating closely with the product development and clinical operations teams to inform the design and ongoing development of Hesta Health’s digital product

  • Applying clinical expertise and problem solving skills to designing and assessing new clinical pathways - working collaboratively with broader team. As well as picking up problems and things we can do better, you get the chance to actually change things.

  • Working with broader to team to help refine services and the digital product based on feedback from patients, other clinicians and relevant data and insights.

  • Co-leading on the design and continuous improvement of digital workflows e.g. care pathways, routes to access care etc. to support safe, effective and high quality clinical delivery

Being a team lead and championing clinical excellence

  • Providing clinical oversight and management of the multidisciplinary clinical team, including GPs, midwives, and other clinicians

  • Line-managing clinical staff, including providing feedback on clinical care and supporting the recruitment and onboarding of new clinical team members. Remember that amazing mentor you had, who did debriefs over tea, insisted on coffee after ward rounds, helped you become a better clinician and provide excellent care to patients?  You can be that person at Hesta Health.

  • Ensuring compliance with clinical SOPs, protocols, and CQC-related policies and processes

  • Leading on ensuring care delivery is safe, patient-centred, and compassionate by overseeing incident management, risk identification, and the implementation of improvement actions in collaboration with the wider team

  • Championing patient voices by leading the complaints process, including review, investigation, escalation, and learning where it's needed

  • Fostering a culture of learning, psychological safety, and open communication by sharing best practice, insights, and lessons learned across the organisation

Delivering clinical care to patients

  • Delivering patient-centred, thorough, and compassionate care to patients as part of their postnatal journey. Your communication skills must be second to none.

  • Identifying and managing common postnatal conditions in line with best practice and clinical guidelines

  • Translating a range of diagnostic inputs (e.g., bloods and other investigations) into clear, actionable, and accessible insights for patients

  • Acting as the clinical escalation lead for cases involving diagnostic uncertainty or urgent/emergency concerns, providing support to other clinicians as required - prior experience of this is desirable

  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary team to co-ordinate and improve overall patient care

  • Maintaining accurate patient and comprehensive patient records

  • Use insights gained from delivering care to Hesta patients to inform ongoing refinement of clinical pathways, services, and product development
