Clinical Fellow Programme

Are you an ambitious, analytical, and exceptionally proactive medical student or recent graduate interested in supporting Hesta Health’s mission? Apply for our Clinical Fellow Programme.

About Hesta Health

Hesta is creating a new benchmark in women’s health, delivering exceptional care at every life stage. As we advance towards this goal, we are committed to closing the women’s health gap, beginning with pregnancy and postnatal as our initial focus. 75 million years of women’s lives are lost every year due to poor health or early death. This gap limits potential, drives inequality, and reflects a healthcare system that wasn’t built for women. We are changing that.

About Us

Hesta Health is creating a new benchmark in women’s health, delivering exceptional care at every life stage.

Our first mission is to reimagine care for mothers and birthing parents through compassionate care, clinical excellence and technology.

The Opportunity

We are building a Clinical Fellow Programme for medical students, recent graduates, and early-stage doctors who want to explore working at the intersection of clinical care, operations, and product development.

This role is designed as an entry point into non-traditional clinical careers, offering hands-on exposure to how care is designed, delivered, and scaled in a modern healthtech environment. You’ll contribute to meaningful work across clinical operations, data, and product, while developing the skills needed to take on more ownership over time.

For those who thrive in this environment, there may be opportunities to progress into other roles with greater responsibility for clinical reporting, product development, and system design.

What you might work on

Depending on your experience, you may support:

  • Synthesising complex patient data into structured insights and draft reports

  • Supporting care coordination and day-to-day clinical operations

  • Identifying gaps, risks, or inefficiencies in care delivery

  • Contributing to the design and refinement of clinical pathways and workflows

  • Supporting the evaluation of AI-enabled tools and outputs against clinical guidance

  • Working with clinical, product, and engineering teams to translate ideas into practical improvements

  • Contributing to documentation, governance frameworks and safety processes to ensure innovation is grounded in integrity

What You’ll Bring

If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you:

  • You’re currently training for a medical degree or are in the early stages of your clinical career (if you’re post-F1, this is not the role for you)

  • You’re interested in exploring careers beyond traditional clinical pathways (you don’t need to have made any decisions yet!)

  • You enjoy working with data, solving complex problems, and making sense of ambiguity

  • You’re curious about digital health, AI, and improving healthcare at a systems level

  • You enjoy applying strong clinical reasoning skills and synthesising complex information accurately and thoughtfully

  • You’re comfortable working with clinical data, EHRs, or digital tools - or keen to build this experience

  • You bring a proactive and curious mindset, and are motivated to build rather than observe

  • Above all, you have a strong willingness to learn and grow

What we offer

  • You’re joining a winning team (founders have worked at: Airbnb, Babylon, NHS, Oxford, UCL)

  • A front-row seat in an early-stage, mission-driven company to help build the backbone of a healthcare service designed specifically for women

  • A foundation to build the core skills required to work in digital health and/or a fast-moving startup

  • Flexible, hybrid, working; our team work is based on the job that needs to be done, not office facetime

  • Office facilities: Spacious working space, with other innovators in Victoria, bike storage, changing facilities and a healthy supply of tea/coffee

We strongly encourage applications from people of colour, the LGBTQ+ community, people with disabilities, neurodivergent people, parents, carers, and people from lower socio-economic backgrounds.

If there’s anything we can do to accommodate your specific situation, please let us know.

The Clinical Fellow programme is a rolling programme.  Please register your expression of interest here and we will be in touch as opportunities arise if your profile is suitable.
